On February 24, in connection with the 31st anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, an event and presentation of the book “Əsir Xocalı” by Sakina Turabkyzy took place at the National Library. First of all, the blessed memory of the martyrs and victims of the Khojaly genocide was honored with a minute of silence.

During the event, it was noted that the Khojaly genocide is the most serious crime committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis at the end of the 20th century. The blessed memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide is honored both in Azerbaijan and abroad.

Sakina Turabgyzy's book "Əsir Xocalı" tells about the tragic fate of the inhabitants of Khojaly, who were held captive during the Khojaly tragedy, as well as about the vandalism of the Armenians.

In continuation of the event, students of secondary school No. 232 of the Surakhani region read poems dedicated to the tragedy of Khojaly.

During the event, an electronic information base called "The Tragedy of the 20th century - the Khojaly genocide" (http://anl.az/el/emb/Xocali-soyqirimi/index.html), as well as a documentary film about Khojaly were demonstrated. At the end, the participants and guests of the event got acquainted with the exhibition "Khojaly genocide - a tragedy of the 20th century".
