On June 5, Muhittin Macit, Culture and Publicity Adviser of the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan, visited the National Library of Azerbaijan. The newly appointed Culture and Publicity counsellor made one of his first visits to the National Library of Azerbaijan. Director of the National Library prof. Greeting the guest, Karim Tahirov congratulated the fraternal Turkish people, including the Minister of Culture, on the important victory won by the entire Turkish people, saying that Mr. Tayyip Erdogan's victory is the victory of two fraternal nations.

The guest expressed his gratitude to the brotherly people of Azerbaijan for the warm reception and for appreciating the victory won by the Turkish people, and noted that he was very pleased with the meeting.

Important plans for the expansion of friendly relations between the National Libraries of Azerbaijan and Turkey were discussed at the meeting. At the same time, it was noted that it is important to hold joint events, poetry nights, book exchange. The issue of donating new books to the Turkish Corner in the National Library of Azerbaijan was also discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the guest was given the books "Azerbaijan's National Library Photo Album", "Azerbaijan's Map", "The Black Book of Karabakh", "Hello Azerbaijan" and CD "The words are Nizami's!" was given as a gift. The guest presented to the National Library a printed copy of Kashgarli Mahmud's "Divani Luğati`t-Türk" in an elegant format, the only copy kept in the Turkish library.
