On November 19, the National Library held a presentation ceremony of the electronic database “Shusha the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World” within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
At the event, it was noted how important it is not only for us but also for the entire Islamic world that our Cultural Capital, which hosts international events today and has regained its former appearance, was awarded the title of “Cultural Capital of the Islamic World” for 2024. It was added that large-scale projects have been implemented to restore a number of historical and cultural monuments in the city of Shusha, which has important historical and cultural significance and exceptional spiritual value for our people, and that life has begun to revive in this ancient city with the restoration of past traditions.
It should be noted that the electronic database consists of sections such as “Official documents”, “Prominent personalities about Shusha”, “History”, “Historical monuments”, “Administrative structure”, “Prominent personalities”, “Publications” and others. The documents presented in the database are provided in their full text.
