In connection with the 85th anniversary of the start of the activities of the Republican State Scientific Medical Library, a book exhibition entitled “Republican State Scientific Medical Library – 85” was presented to users at the National Library.

The exhibition displays official documents on library work, the history of library work in Azerbaijan, the activities and publications of the Azerbaijan State Republican Scientific Medical Library, books on the organization of library and information services for medical science and healthcare institutions in the Republic of Azerbaijan, scientific articles on the activities of the Republican Medical Library during the years of independence and problems of informatization, tasks, specific features of work with readers, etc.

It should be noted that the Republican State Scientific Medical Library is a special scientific library from a typological point of view. The library was established by the Council of People's Commissars of the Azerbaijan SSR on January 29, 1939. It began operating on March 9, 1940.

The library provides library-bibliographic and information services to health authorities, scientific research and treatment-prevention institutions, as well as scientists and specialists dealing with public health problems.

The exhibition will last for a week.
