This year marks the 90th anniversary of Rasim Kazimov, one of the prominent representatives of national librarianship, library-bibliography field, well-known library theorist, scientist and pedagogue.

On this occasion, a virtual exhibition called "Rasim Kazimov - 90" was prepared by the employees of the Azerbaijan National Library named after M.F. Akhundzade. In the virtual exhibition, the opinions of prominent people of Azerbaijan about the librarian-bibliographer-scientist, photos, books and articles authored by him are displayed.

A prominent scientist Rasim Kazimov graduated from the university in 1954 and received the degree of a bibliographer and engraved  his name in the history of librarianship in Azerbaijan as the first and only Azerbaijani graduate of one of the most prestigious educational institutions on the scale of theUSSR.

In 1972, he defended his candidate's thesis entitled "Bibliography of Fiction and Literary Studies in Azerbaijan: 1920-1965" and received the degree of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences. In 1977-2008, he worked as a teacher at the Library and Information Faculty of Baku State University. In 2004-2008, he worked as a senior researcher in the Library Science Department of the Central Scientific Library of ANAS.

Rasim Kazimov participated in a number of international conferences held in foreign countries and duly represented our republic and made memorable speeches on the current topics of library work. He was repeatedly awarded with honorary decrees and diplomas of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, the Ministry of Culture and the Trade Union, as well as the medals "For Labor Courage" and "Labor Veteran".

R. Kazimov is the author about 100 scientific articles and books such as  "Oil: literature index", "Azerbaijan Republican Book Chamber: memory (1925-1965)", "The state and development of the bibliography of fiction literature in Azerbaijan", "Azerbaijan State Library", "Fiction literature in Azerbaijan and The situation and development issues of literary bibliography: 1946-1964 years", "Bibliography of Fiction and Literary Studies in Azerbaijan" (1920-1965), "Library Department", "Library worker's information book, "Abuzar Ali oglu Khalafov", " Market economy and libraries", "Economics of library work", "Library marketing: a program for the library-information faculty of BSU", "Economics of library work", "At the peak of wisdom and scholarship: Abuzar Ali oglu Khalafov", etc.
