On July 29, the National Library of Azerbaijan held a virtual meeting with the employees of the Centralized Library Systems of the Republic on the topic "Creation of electronic information resources: current situation and ways to solve problems".

Adiba Ismayilova, deputy director of the National Library, doctor of philosophy in history, opened the meeting and greeted the participants, spoke about the modernization of processes in libraries in recent years, expansion of activities in the field of application of progressive methods and technologies, noted that the National Library, as a methodical center, directs the work of Centralized Library Systems (CLS) of the republic in accordance with the requirements of the time in order to improve their activities.

The main purpose of the virtual meeting is to analyze the current state of the library's activities, to familiarize the library employees with innovations, to clarify the problems, to come up with proposals and recommendations for their solution, she emphasized the significance of regularly holding such a series of meetings in various areas of the library's work, the National Library is open to everyone provided information about the electronic library, full-text databases, virtual exhibitions and new full-text projects, and invited them to take advantage of these resources in their work and to actively participate in all the trainings that will be organized.

Tarana Jafarova, an employee of the National Library, spoke about the characteristics of the formation of an electronic catalog and an electronic library in the national library, the current situation in this field was analyzed, the problems that appeared in the application process, ways to improve quality, etc. discussions were held in such directions, relevant questions were answered and necessary recommendations were given in order to increase the functionality.

Employees of CLS of Ganja, Goranboy, Sheki, Guba, Shabran, Nefchala, Ismayilli, Siyazan, Samukh, Sumgait, Gabala, Imishli, Oguz, Agdash and other cities and regions took part in the meeting.
