This year marks the 220th anniversary of Mirza Kazim Bey, an outstanding Orientalist scientist, educator, the first Azerbaijani member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Mirza Kazim Bey is one of the unique personalities that the Azerbaijani people gave to mankind in the 19th century. Mirza Kazim bey brought world fame to Azerbaijani science, played an exceptional role in the development of human science, and had rich scientific power and encyclopedic knowledge.

Mirza Kazim Bey, an outstanding thinker, the pride of our nation, possessor of extraordinary intelligence and talent, is still of great importance for world science related to oriental studies, literature, language, philosophy, history, law, religious studies, ethics, etymology, ethnography, pedagogy, and literary criticism., wrote a number of fundamental works that are considered rare sources, became a perfect connoisseur of many world languages, and at the same time gained great fame as an outstanding organizer of science and education.
