Within the framework of VI Baku Book Fair, conference dedicated to the centenary of MustayKarim, the national poet of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and presentation of “Works of MustayKarim in the Turkic languages” book were held at the National Library on September 28.

Before the event, Azerbaijan National Library and the National Academic Library of Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation.

Then the conference began with a short film reflecting the life and work of the national poet of the Republic of Bashkortostan MustayKarim.

Director of Azerbaijan National Library, prof.KarimTahirov welcomed the guests and mentioned that the National Library in association with TURKSOY international organization holds such events dedicated to the anniversaries of the great figures of the Turkic world. He also noted that book “Works of MustayKarim in the Turkic languages”, dedicated to the centenary of the great Bashkir poet MustayKarim, will cause great interests of the Azerbaijani people and other Turkic-speaking peoples.

In his speech, prof.DusenKasseinov noted that TURKSOY international organization holds such jubilee events dedicated to the great personalities of the Turkic peoples in a number of countries in order to further develop and strengthen fraternal relations between the Turkic-speaking countries and to promote Turkic culture in the world.

Chairman of the Board of the Union of Writers of Bashkortostan and Member of the State Assembly-Kurultay of the Republic of Bashkortostan, ZakiAlibaev; Deputy Director of the National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan named after Ahmad ZakiValidi, LiusiiaIliasova; Head of Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan, Member of Parliament, academician NizamiJafarov; Turkish poet-translator, researcher KenanCharboga; prof.GazanfarPashayev; prof.NizamiTagisoy and others spoke about the life and creativity of the great Bashkir poet MustayKarim, and highly appreciated the importance of the events held in association with TURKSOY international organization, and emphasized the important role of such events in the development of cultural relations between the Turkic peoples.

In the end, Secretary General of TURKSOY prof.DusenKasseinov presented commemorative gifts related to MustayKarim to the Director of the National Library prof.KarimTahirov, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Writers of Bashkortostan and Member of the State Assembly-Kurultay of the Republic of Bashkortostan, ZakiAlibaev and Deputy Director of Ahmad ZakiValidi National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan, LiutsiiaIliasova.
