On May 12, the national scientific conference "Heydar Aliyev and library building in Azerbaijan" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was held in the National Library under the joint organization of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Library of Azerbaijan.

First of all, the soul of the great leader, national headsman Heydar Aliyev was remembered with a minute of silence. Moreover, the speech of the great leader Heydar Aliyev on June 3, 1995, when he came to the National Library of Azerbaijan for the first time, at the opening of the miniature book exhibition and at the presentation ceremony of the book "Oath of Loyalty to the Motherland, the State, the People" was brought to the attention of the participants of the event.

During the event, the speakers talked about the great leader's attention and concern for Azerbaijani literature, culture, library work, Heydar Aliyev's meaningful life path, rich and diverse heritage, his services in the development of Azerbaijani culture, literature, books and libraries.

The speakers also talked about the admirable activity of the National Library of Azerbaijan during the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" and the great leader's services in the development of librarianship as a scientific field.

At the end, the event participants and guests got acquainted with a large book exhibition called "2023 - Year of Heydar Aliyev".
