On September 27, opening ceremony of the book exhibition “Nasimi manuscripts in the world libraries” was held at the National Library.

The exhibition, which was organized as a part of the project “Return of our cultural values to the country”, was held within the framework of VI Baku Book Fair.

Vice-president of HeydarAliyev Foundation LeylaAliyeva also attended the opening ceremony.

Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan AbulfasGarayev gave detailed information about the exhibition. He noted that the exhibition features the copies of manuscripts of İmadaddinNasimi, great poet of the East. Those books have been acquired from various libraries around the world. The exhibition is opened within the framework of the book fair which was organized in our country for the sixth time. Organizing such book fairs and exhibitions has already become tradition.

The Minister said that, in accordance with the relevant Order of the President IlhamAliyev, the 650^th anniversary of the birth of ImadaddinNasimi is celebrated in our country with various events. Also, 2019 was declared as the “Year of Nasimi” by another Order of the President.

The Minister also mentioned that the visit of the Vice-president of HeydarAliyev Foundation LeylaAliyeva to the largest library of the country is the high appreciation of the Foundation on reading, books and reading literacy.

Director of the National Library KarimTahirov presented a book of poems about mother and a book about Azerbaijan National Library (in three languages) to LeylaAliyeva.

Then guests viewed the exhibition.

Opening of International cooperation hall was held at the National Library with the participation of LeylaAliyeva.

The opening ceremony was attended by Diplomatic representatives and library heads of the 13 countries.

The guests got acquainted with reading halls of the National Library.
