The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in association with Republican Children’s Library named after F.Kocharli and Azerbaijan National Library, held the presentations of “Mikayil Rzaguluzadeh. Bibliography” book and eponymous e-database at the National Library, on the 27^th of December.

Welcoming the guests, director of the National Library prof. Karim Tahirov talked about the activities of the prominent prose-writer, translator and poet Mikayil Rzaguluzadeh. In his speech, Prof. noted that main topics of his works are enlightenment, patriotism, love of motherland, peace, freedom, heroism and etc.

In her speech, Shahla Gambarova, Director of Republican Children’s Library named after F.Kocharli, noted that book “Mikayil Rzaguluzadeh. Bibliography” is dedicated to the 115^th anniversary of the outstanding writer who made great contributions to the children’s literature of Azerbaijan. Director noted that bibliography contains works and translations of the prose-writer published in books and periodicals during 1923-2018.

In his speech, Head of Chair at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Doctor of philological sciences prof. Zahid Khalil said that bibliography is a research work that perfectly reflects the life and works of the great writer Mikayil Rzaguluzadeh and added that he had a great role in the enrichment of Azerbaijan children’s literature with foreign countries literature as he translated foreign authors’ works into our native language.

Also, Doctor of philological sciences prof. Rafig Yousifoghlu said that Mikayil Rzaguluzadeh had been closely involved in the preparation of textbooks for secondary schools and the books prepared by him were highly appreciated by educators.

Children’s literature researcher, PhD in philology, Associate Professor Fuzuli Asgarli also made a speech and called Mikayil Rzaguluzadeh the coryphaeus of the children’s literature of Azerbaijan and spoke of the translation activities of the writer.

Head of Children’s Department of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union Gasham Najafzadeh talked about the works written by Mikayil Rzaguluzadeh for children.

Then, Konul Nasibova – Director of Azerbaijan State Archive of Literature and Art named after Salman Mumtaz, children’s author Solmaz Amanova, compiler of the book and the Honored Worker of Art Nazila Tahirova mentioned that the book would be a valuable source for scholars, literary-critics and researches. 

On behalf of the family of the well-known writer and prosaist Mikayil Rzaguluzadeh, his grandchild Ayten Rzaguliyeva expressed her deep gratitude to the management and staff of the Republican Children’s Library named after F. Kocharli for such a valuable contribution.

Then, e-database “Mikayil Rzaguluzadeh” was presented.

In the end, participants of the event got closely acquainted with a book exhibition reflecting the life and works of Mikayil Rzaguluzadeh.
