On December 27, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Republic together with ANAS Literature Institute named after Nizami and Azerbaijan National Library held the presentation ceremony of “Azerbaijani literature in the period of independence” two-volume edition published by the Literature Institute named after Nizami on the occasion of the 25^th anniversary of the restoration of state independence of Azerbaijan, and signing ceremony of the agreement on mutual cooperation between the National Library and the Literature Institute.

Opening the event director of the National Library professor Karim Tahirov greeted the participants of the event. Then the first Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Vagif Aliyev congratulated the participants of the event on the occasion of the upcoming World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day. Speaking about the international and local relations of the National Library Deputy Minister noted the importance of the agreement signed that day.

Director of the National Library professor Karim Tahirov and director of ANAS Literature Institute named after Nizami academician Isa Habibbayli spoke about the importance and inevitability of the Agreement, and then the Agreement was signed in two authentic copies.

Speaking about the two-volume edition “Azerbaijani literature in the period of independence” published by the Literature Institute named after Nizami on the occasion of the 25^th anniversary of restoration of the state independence of Azerbaijan Doctor of Philosophy, professor Tehran Alishanoghlu delivered a detailed lecture about the book.

Speakers Nizami Jafarov – head of Ataturk Centre in Azerbaijan, corresponding member of ANAS, Member of Parliament, Gazanfar Pashayev – publicist, linguist, writer and professor, Sayyad Aran – Member of Parliament, Chingiz Abdullayev – Secretary of the Writers’ Union, Pasha Alioghlu – Deputy Director of the Manuscripts Institute, Doctor of Philology shared their thoughts about the book.

The exhibition named “Azerbaijani literature in the period of independence” caused great interest of the participants of the event.
