On April 28, the National Library held an event on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Academician Zarifa Aliyeva and the opening of a traditional book exhibition called "Intelligence that illuminates the darkness - Zarifa Aliyeva" prepared by the employees of the National Library of Azerbaijan.
During the event, it was said that Ms. Zarifa healed several eyes during her many years of activity, performed the most difficult and complex operations, and illuminated the dark world of the visually impaired or completely blind. In this work, he was supported not only by his knowledge, education and competence, but also by the high qualities derived from his genes and the family he grew up in.
It was noted that academician Zarifa Aliyeva was awarded the M.I. Averbakh award of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, the most prestigious award in the field of ophthalmology of the former USSR, for the successful results of her scientific research in the field of occupational pathology of the visual organ. As the first woman scientist to receive this award in the former USSR, her name went down in the history of ophthalmology.
Mrs. Zarifa, who was the lifelong companion of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, was not only an outstanding scientist, but also an active public figure and a caring mother. One of the most beautiful services of Mrs. Zarifa was to give a great person like Ilham Aliyev, a politician known all over the world to the people of Azerbaijan.
Within the framework of the event, a large book exhibition called "Intelligence that sheds light on the darkness - Zarifa Aliyeva" was opened. At the end, the event participants got acquainted with the exhibition.
