The military operations that lasted from September 27 to November 10, 2020 went down in the history of Azerbaijan as the Patriotic War. Our soldiers and officers, our citizens working on the rear front, who created real examples of heroism in the war for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the people of Azerbaijan as a whole, demonstrated determination and will, strong unity and solidarity in this cause of Right and Honor, and dealt a crushing blow to the enemy. Our lands were freed from occupation at the cost of the blood and lives of heroic martyrs. The people and the state of Azerbaijan always appreciate the bravery of their fighting sons and daughters, pay respect to the souls of the martyrs, and cherish their memory. September 27, as a sign of deep respect for the soldiers and officers who fought heroically in the Patriotic War, waved the Azerbaijani flag in the lands liberated from occupation, sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country's territorial integrity, and all the martyrs, by the Order signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on December 2, 2020 Memorial Day has been announced in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
