An extensive book exhibition titled “Mikayil Rzaguluzadeh - 120” has been opened at the National Library on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of the golden signature of our children's literature - Mikayil Rzaguluzadeh.

The exhibition showcases the writer's works, translations from world literature, books he compiled, forewords to, and edited, as well as literature in Azerbaijani and Russian languages ​​reflecting his life, activities, and creativity.

It should be noted that Mikayil Manaf oglu Rzaguluzadeh, a prominent representative of Azerbaijani prose, poet, translator, and educator, was born in Baku on March 17, 1905.

He began his literary career with the poem “Teacher” published in the “Abdulla Shaig” booklet in 1923. His first article was published in the “Maarif Ischisi” magazine in 1926 under the title “The Problem of Method in Children's Literature”.

Although he wrote and created on various topics, starting from 1945, he intended all his books for children and young people. His books “The Swallow’s Nest” (1945), “The White Calf” (1945), “The Power of the Hand” (1948), “The Swan Lake” (1955) and others are works that children and young people love to read.

Mikayil Rzaguluzadeh gained fame not only as a wonderful poet, prose writer, and publicist, but also as a master of words who translated the works of writers living in different countries of the world into our language. He translated T. Aldridge's "Memoirs of an American Schoolboy", R. Kipling's "Mowgli", V. Mayakovsky's "Selected Poems and Poems", V. Bianchi's "We Are Many", A. Duma's "The Three Musketeers", M. Gorky's "Childhood", L.N. Tolstoy's "Resurrection", J. London's "Stories", J. Rodari's "Chippolino" and other works into Azerbaijani. The 1940 translation of Nizami Ganjavi's "Isgandaranname. Iqbalname" also belongs to Mikayil Rzaguluzade.
