In March, the 150th anniversary of the prominent Azerbaijani prose writer, poet, dramatist, journalist, translator, Honored Art Worker Mammad Said Ordubadi is marked. M.S. Ordubadi's work for the history and literature of Azerbaijan is priceless.  From his pen came the first sprouts of the genre of the historical novel in our literature.  Most of his works are closely related to this genre. "Smoggy Tabriz", "Hidden Baku", "Fighting City", "Sword and Pen", etc. novels like this have the ability to create a complete and accurate impression on the reader about different periods of the centuries-old rich history of Azerbaijan.

M.S. Ordubadi is one of the writers who carried the national spirit and interests of the people he belonged to throughout his life and creativity both in his heart and in his pen. He understood his national identity very well, sometimes openly, sometimes secretly, without hesitation expressed it in his works.That is why, even though years have passed, he is still read and loved as a modern writer.

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Mammad Said Ordubadi, the staff of the National Library of Azerbaijan prepared a virtual exhibition called “Mammad Said Ordubadi – 150”. Books authored by the prominent Azerbaijani dramatist, articles published in periodicals about his life and creativity, photos are displayed in the virtual exhibition.
