On December 9, with the joint organization of the National Library of Azerbaijan, Baku State University and the Department of Information and Document Management of Kastamonu University of the Republic of Turkey, the National Library dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Library and Information Faculty of BSU "Training of personnel in document and information management: advantages, perspectives"  International Scientific Conference was held.

The director of the National Library of Azerbaijan, professor Karim Tahirov, opened the event with an introductory speech, greeted the guest from the Republic of Turkey, the employees of the faculty and all the participants, spoke about the creation and formation of the faculty, the successes achieved by the faculty in recent years, and emphasized the constant relations between the National Library and the faculty, saying that , the library has always acted as the main experience base of the faculty during these years and participated in connecting teaching with experience. The director noted the importance of providing the library's publications to the faculty as important resources in the organization of teaching.

Dean of the Faculty of Librarianship-Information, Ph.D. in philology, associate professor Alamdar Jabbarli spoke and said that the anniversary events have been going on for two days now, more than 10 foreign speakers participated in the conference, that major works have been done in recent years to modernize the scientific and pedagogical environment at the faculty, and that the National Library noted that every year the faculty provides employment to its graduates, and said that the university-wide presentation ceremony of the library's publications to the faculty is planned for the beginning of next year.

Professor Hasan Keseroglu, head of the Information and Document Management Department of Kastamonu University of the Republic of Turkey, thanked for the invitation, expressed his pride in being at the National Library, and wished success to the work of the conference.

Nadir Ismayilov, head of the department of bibliographic studies, doctor of philosophy in pedagogy, docent Nadir Ismayilov, in his report "The role of the National Library of Azerbaijan in the training of librarians and information specialists" said that the ideology of librarianship was formed in the National Library, naming the first honorary graduates of the faculty, most of them had their first jobs in this library. noted that the National Library is always actively involved in the training of highly qualified personnel, the formation of a scientific environment, and the publication of scientific works in the field, especially in the last 15 years, it has made great contributions to the development of the bibliographic culture of Azerbaijan, and emphasized the importance of these resources in teaching and in the management of information resources. thanked the management of the faculty and the library for the organization at the level.

Head of the Department of Bibliography and Publishing, Doctor of Philosophy in Pedagogy, Associate Professor Knyaz Aslan said in his speech entitled "Staff training in publishing and editing: future challenges" that the Azerbaijan National Library, established in 1923, and Azernashr, 1925- The State Book Chamber, formed in 2006, played the role of a foundation, spoke about the history of the department's organization, its teaching and research directions, and drew attention to the importance of training professional editors.

Head of the Department of Library Science, Doctor of Philosophy in Pedagogy, Associate Professor Elchin Ahmadov gave a speech entitled "The concept of a model in modern library science" and said that national library science is based on world library science, and spoke about its socio-philosophical and technological models in the modeling of library science.

Adiba Ismayilova, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs and Library Information Service of the National Library, Doctor of Philosophy in History, presented the forms of virtual library and information service, directions of online service work, e-periodical press, The analyst spoke about projects from bibliographic electronic resources, electronic databases, audiobooks, music library, and our national music treasury.

The head of the "Library resources and information search systems" department, doctor of philosophy in history, associate professor Sevda Khalafova spoke about the activity of the department in her report "Information resources management" and congratulated the entire library community on this holiday and significant day.

Ph.D. in pedagogy, associate professor Khuraman Aghayeva spoke about information consulting, talking about the methods of using innovations in the activities of libraries in recent times, in her speech on the topic "Duties of a library manager and information consultant".

Solmaz Sadygova, Associate Professor of the Department of Bibliography, Doctor of Philosophy in History, thanked the faculty and library management for the recent positive changes and the organization of the event.
