The Library and Information faculty of the Baku State University also joined the book donation campaign jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Library in connection with the restoration of book collections of the libraries operating until the early 1990s in our territories which were liberated from the Armenian occupation as a result of the 44-day war by the victorious Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
Acting Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor of Bibliography and Publishing Alamdar Jabbarli first spoke about the important victory achieved by the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. “Many cultural monuments, libraries, as well as book collections have been destroyed in our lands which had been under occupation for almost 30 years” he said. And he added that the construction works have already been started under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
Highly appreciating the importance of “Book Collection Campaign for the Libraries in the Liberated Areas” jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Library of Azerbaijan, Alamdar Jabbarli donated 1,000 copies of textbooks and magazines in Azerbaijani, English and Russian, on Azerbaijani literature, the policy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, as well as about the Library-Information faculty. The books and magazines were collected by the staff of the Library and Information faculty.
