The 41st Istanbul International Book Fair, which began its work on November 2 at the TUYAP complex, continues with interesting events and presentations.
Presentations related to our literature, culture and cuisine are being organized within the framework of the exhibition, where Azerbaijan is the "guest country of honor". On November 4, a presentation of a book consisting of poems by Mikayil Azafly (Mikayil Jabbar oglu Zeynalov; 1924-1990), a prominent representative of Azerbaijani ashug art, poet, Honored Cultural Worker, whose 100th anniversary is celebrated this year, was held at the exhibition venue.
The presentation ceremony was held jointly with TURKSOY, the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and the National Library of Azerbaijan.
The moderator of the event, Elchin Gafarly, the representative of Azerbaijan in TURKSOY, spoke about the creation of the publication. He noted that the book entitled "Ashug Mikayil Azafly. Selected Poems" is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the outstanding master of music and lyrics.

On the same day, the presentation of the book "Azerbaijani Folk Tales", prepared this year under the project of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Turkiye and translated into Turkish, was held.
It was reported that the compiler of the book is Azerbaijani scientist, culturologist Matanat Huseynova, living in Turkiye, and the author of the illustrations based on the tales is the well-known children's artist Nushaba Kichik.
The book includes 12 fairy tales: "Tig-tig khanim", "Cyrtdan", "Shengulum, Shungulum, Mangulum tale", "Kechal", "Goychek Fatma", "Ovchu Pirim's tale", "Magic carpet", "Tepegoz's tale", "Melikmammad", "Tulku, tulku, tunbeki" - a total of 12 fairy tales.
A group of students from the secondary school named after the National Hero of Azerbaijan Mubariz Ibrahimov in Istanbul also participated in the event, asking questions to children's writers and reciting poems.
