This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the prominent representative of the Azerbaijani culture, screenwriter, film director and People’s artist Hasan Mehdi oglu Seyidbayli.

Hasan Seyidbeyli has a special place in the history of our art with his wide-ranging creative work. Hasan Seyidbayli enriched our film history by bringing the artistic image of Nasimi to our national cinema. For the first time in our cinema he created artistic images of Naimi, Teymurlang and Shirvanshah Ibrahim.

Hasan Seyidbeyli's life is closely connected with our culture, art and literature. His works and films are a real artistic chronicle of our history. The ideas embodied in his works shed light on our way of life and call us to be more sensitive to our moral values. Hasan Seyidbeyli, who has achieved great success both as a film director and a writer, has always been loved and attracted the attention of thousands of people.

In accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the celebration of the centenary of Hasan Seyidbayli” and the Action Plan of the Ministry of Culture, the staff of the National Library has prepared a virtual exhibition titled “Hasan Seyidbayli – 100”. The virtual exhibition features materials about the life and work of the prominent screenwriter, his awards and photos, as well as books and articles about him.
