This year marks the 160th anniversary of the birth of the great Azerbaijani poet, the founder of a new literary school in the history of our artistic and social thought, Mirza Alakbar Sabir (son of Mashadi Alakbar Haji Zeynalabdin oglu Tahirzadeh).

Mirza Alakbar Sabir, widely known as one of the main creators of critical realism in national literature, is one of the most selfless heralds of humanism and democratic ideas, national awakening and revival in artistic thought. He is known as the founder of the Mollanasraddinchi school of satirical poetry, a powerful representative of satirical poetry in the Turkic-Muslim world.

M.A. Sabir, one of the dedicated heralds of national awakening, humanism, positive ideals and democratic values, is known in our national literature not only as a classic representative of satirical poetry and critical realism, but also as the author of beautiful children's poems.

In accordance with the Ministry of Culture's plan of events in connection with the 160th anniversary of Mirza Alakbar Sabir, a prominent representative of Azerbaijani literature, the National Library staff prepared an electronic database called "The outstanding satirical poet - Mirza Alakbar Sabir".Electronic database consists of sections such as "Decree of the President", "Life and creativity", "Main dates of life and activity", " prominent people thoughts  about M.A. Sabir", "Works", "About", "Sabir and art", "Perpetuation of his memory" ","Photo gallery" and "Video gallery".
