This year marks the 90th anniversary of Abdul Alizadeh, an outstanding psychologist-scientist, professor, Honored Scientist, recipient of the Order of Glory.

Abdul Alizadeh began his pedagogical activities in 1955 at the Azerbaijan State Art School named after A. Azimzadeh. Later, he worked as a teacher, head teacher and docent at the Department of Psychology of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute. He graduated from Postgraduate studies of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute in 1963. The talented psychologist defended his candidacy on "Characteristics of analysis and synthesis processes in students' creative imagination", and in 1976 he defended his doctoral theses on "Psychological problems of sexual dimorphism and personal interactions". A special place in his scientific activity as a psychologist was occupied by the theme of the creative imagination of students. The young scientist studied this topic from different aspects and came to original scientific and practical conclusions. In addition to improving his researches in the field of educational psychology, he paid more attention to the study of ethnopsychological issues and put forward the idea of personality formation in education on an ethnopsychological basis.

The school of A. Alizade was more closely connected with the psychology of personality, and its main task was to study it from the ethno-psychological, sexual, spiritual and creative sides. For his scientific activity, he was awarded a number of orders and medals, including the Order of Glory, and was awarded the honorary title of Meritorious Scientist.

On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the outstanding psychologist-scientist A. Alizadeh, a virtual exhibition called "Psychologist-scientist Abdul Alizadeh" was prepared by the staff of the National Library of Azerbaijan named after M.F. Akhundzadeh. Photos, books authored by A. Alizadeh and articles written about him are displayed in the virtual exhibition.
