June 20 marks the centenary of the great Azerbaijani composer, People’s Artist Jahangir Jahangirov. He is the author of many valuable musical compositions. Among them are: “Across the river Aras” vocal-symphonic poem for soloist, choir and symphony orchestra, “A Song about Friendship”, “Fuzuli”, “Nasimi” cantatas, "Sabir", "Huseyn Javid – 59", "Great Victory" oratorios, “Azad”, “Khananda’s Fortune” operas and other works.

The composer’s works have always caused great interest not only in Azerbaijan, but also beyond the borders of our country.

In this regard, the staff of the Azerbaijan National Library has prepared a virtual exhibition entitled “Jahangir Jahangirov – 100”. The virtual exhibition features the composer’s books, his photos and awards, also books and articles about life and work of the great composer.
