The conference was attended by well-known cultural figures, Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Bulgaria Nargiz Gurbanova, Ambassador of Albania in Bulgaria Donika Hoxha and other officials.

First, director of the library Assoc. Prof. Krasimira Alexandrova welcomed the guests. Executive Director of the National Library of Latvia Dzintra Mukane, professor Alexandra Kumanova and Doctor Nikolai Vasilev from the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies, Head of the Bulgarian State Archives Agency prof. Mihail Gruev and the expert of the State Archives Agency Milena Todorakova, Editor-in-chief of Orthodox blog “Dobrotolyubie” Angel Karadokov, Director of the National and University Library of Bosnia & Herzegovina Ismet Ovcina, Head of the International and Cultural Relations Department of the National Library of Hungary Peter Antalffy, Archivist of NLCM prof. Milkana Boshnakova, Prof. Alexander Dimchev from Sofia University St. Clement of Ohrid, Chief Librarian Kristina Dimcheva from the Varna “Pencho Slaveykov” Regional Library, Director General of the National Library of Greece Dr. Filippos Tsimpoglou, librarian Letitia Constantin at Marketing and Communication Department of the National Library of Romania, Head of the Special Collections Department Dr. Anca Andreescu, Prof. Sergey Pachev from the Ukraine State Pedagogical University “Bogdan Khmelnitsky” and others made speeches and discussions on various topics.

Our country was represented by Adiba Ismayilova, Honored Worker of Culture and Deputy Director of Azerbaijan National Library. First of all, she congratulated the management and staff of the St. Cyril and St. Methodius National Library of Bulgaria on the 140^th anniversary of the establishment of the library.

Deputy Director made a speech under the title of “Azerbaijan National Library is the national treasure of the Azerbaijani people” and donated well-designed book about the Azerbaijani culture to the library.

Speeches will be continued on the second day of the conference. Colleagues from Central Library of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Historical Sciences, Museum of Ethnology, Ruse “L.Karavelov” Regional Library, Shumen “Stiliyan Chilingirov” Regional Library, Plovdiv Regional Historical Museum and other institutions will make speeches on donation campaigns in museums, donations, modern cultural philanthropy, fund raising methods of libraries, libraries and business, voluntary donation support and the culture of donation, digital donations, donation as main factor for the creation of cultural collections, donations in book exhibitions and etc.

Also visiting the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Bulgaria, Mrs. Adiba Ismayilova met with Ambassador Nargiz Gurbanova and talked about bilateral cultural relations between the national libraries of the two countries.
