The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Egyptian Cultural Center and the Azerbaijan National Library held an event in connection with “Islamic Solidarity Year”. Professor at Cairo University, the Laureate of the State Prize for Literature Ahmad Ibrahim Darvish Mohammad made a speech on the theme of “The role of Azerbaijan in strengthening of the Islamic Solidarity” at the event.
Opening the event director of the National Library professor Karim Tahirov spoke about announcing 2017 as “Islamic solidarity year” by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, mentioned that Islam is a religion of friendship, brotherhood and peace, talked about series of events held in the country and about the IV Islamic Solidarity Games that successfully held in Baku on 12-22 May.
In his speech Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Darvish Mohammad spoke about Islam and tolerance in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani scholars laying the foundation of Islamic solidarity in the world literature and culture, and their irreplaceable contributions to the Islamic solidarity.
Head of the Egyptian Center for Cultural and Educational Relations Ahmed Sami Elaydy said that the IV Islamic Solidarity Games is the best embodiment of Islamic solidarity.
In the end, the guest was presented with “Azerbaijan National Library, Photo Album” (in Azerbaijani, English and Russian) and “Azerbaijan, Photo Album” (in Arabic) books.
