On May 10, an event dedicated to the birthday of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held in the "Open Library" operating under the National Library of Azerbaijan, jointly organized by the "Aytam" Children's Cultural Education Public Union and the National Library.

 Director of the National Library Professor Karim Tahirov opened the event and greeted the guests. The director said that today is the birthday of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, the great leader, the architect of independent Azerbaijan.

The director emphasized that on this day,  we have gathered for the event dedicated to the Great Leader with the participation of the students of Khan Shushinski Children's Mugam Music School of Aghdam district No. 284 and Nariman Narimanov Secondary School No. 45 at the Open Library were jointly organized by the National Library of Azerbaijan and "Aytam" Children's Cultural Education Public Union. During his speech, K. Tahirov said that the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev visited the National Library 4 times in 1995-1997, and on his first visit, he donated about 300 books from his personal library to the library. He noted that the books gifted by the Great Leader to the National Library, his own books and books written about him, pictures taken while he was in the National Library, the "Quran Karim" he brought from Mecca and presented to the National Library, as well as tapes of his speeches while in the library occupies its rightful place in the "Heydar Aliyev corner" of the National Library. Talking about the great leader's services to Azerbaijan, the director said that one of the most important services of the national leader is to recommend a student whom he believes as much as himself to lead his people. The liberation of our Karabakh from occupation with the strong will of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev and the participation of the Victorious Azerbaijan Army confirmed once again that the Great Leader was not wrong in his choice. At the end of his speech, he said that every time such a series of events are held, the spirit of the Great Leader will be happy and he will live forever in the memory of the Azerbaijani people as a founder and savior statesman.

During the event, students of Khan Shushinsky Children's Mugham School of Music No. 284, Agdam region - Gurban Mammadov, Shamil Hasanli, Subhan Abbasov, Ilgar Kahramanli, Huseyn Kazimli, Said Aliyev, Rasul Gadirli, Seyhun Ahmadzadeh, Nazrin Aghazadeh, Seymur Mustafayev, Ali Batizadeh, Aysun Aliyeva. and so on. and performed the songs "Karabagh", "Shushan mountains", "The motherland is good" and others.

In the continuation of the event, Turkan Najafova, a student of secondary school number 45 named after Nariman Narimanov, presented "Ulu Ondar" and her own poem "Shusha" to the guests. At the same time, another student of the same school, Ayan Valiyeva, danced to the Azerbaijani song.

At the end of the event, the students who actively participated in the series of events organized on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev were given honorary diplomas and a commemorative photo was taken.
