On the occasion of the 110^th anniversary of the birth of the National poet Samed Vurgun, an exhibition of books and photos stored in the fund of Azerbaijan National Library reflecting the life and work of the poet was opened at the National Library of Turkey, in Ankara, on November 17.

Opening the event, director of the National Library of Turkey Zulfi Toman spoke of the events held in Istanbul and Ankara. Director of Azerbaijan National Library professor Karim Tahirov expressed his gratitude to the director of the National Library of Turkey Zulfi Toman for hosting.

On behalf of the TURKSOY General Secretary, representative of Azerbaijan in TURKSOY Elchin Gafarli greeted the participants of the event, and presented a gift to the National Library of Turkey on behalf of the organization.

Head of Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan, Member of Parliament, professor Nizami Jafarov, Secretary of Azerbaijan Writers’ Union Rashad Majid, director of Samed Vurgun House Museum Nushaba Babayeva-Vekilova spoke about the works of the poet.

Honored artist Mehriban Zeki performed the poems of the poet.

The exhibition caused great interest of the participants.
